How we treat each other
A few rules that keep small groups easy to join and easy to trust.
For everyone
- Show up, or say early that you can't. Someone on the waitlist may want your spot.
- Be kind. Everyone in the group came to meet new people, and most came alone.
- No pressure. Picks are private for a reason. If someone isn't interested, leave it there.
- Keep it about the activity. No selling, recruiting or collecting contacts.
- Ask before taking photos of other people, and don't share what people tell you about themselves.
- Be yourself. Use your real first name and age.
For hosts
- Run what you described: the time, the place, the price and what's included.
- Welcome people who come alone and introduce the group to each other.
- Use public places, and check people in when they arrive.
- Tell the team if anything goes wrong, even something small.
When someone breaks these
Tell us with Report a problem, or by email. Only the Meetingy team sees a report, never the person it's about.
- The team reads every report and can pause or remove an account.
- Host pages can be paused, and their upcoming activities cancelled.
- In an emergency, call the local emergency number first, then tell us.
