Questions

Questions, answered

How Meetingy works, what it costs and how we keep it safe.

Joining an activity

What is Meetingy?

Small-group activities run by local hosts: padel, supper clubs, run clubs, quiz nights, classes. You do something fun with a few new people. Afterwards, everyone privately picks who they'd like to see again, and mutual picks are connected.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Most people do, and the formats are built for it: partners rotate, teams are mixed at the door, seats change at dessert. The host introduces everyone.

Who will be in my group?

The day before, you see your group: first names, ages and one fun fact each. No surnames and no phone numbers.

How do I check in?

When you arrive, scan the host's QR code with your phone. If scanning doesn't work, the host can check you in.

What if I can't make it?

Open the activity and tap that you can't go, as early as you can. People on the waitlist are told a spot has opened.

Which cities is Meetingy in?

Bangkok first, then Singapore. If you live somewhere else, ask for your city and we'll email you when it opens there.

Is there an app?

Meetingy works in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen. iPhone and Android apps are on the way.

Money

What does it cost?

Joining Meetingy is free. Each activity shows its price, and you usually pay the host at the venue, the same price their other guests pay.

Are there deposits?

Not during the pilot. Later, some activities may ask for a small deposit to hold your spot, which you get back when you check in.

Safety and privacy

How do you check hosts?

Our team reviews every host page before it goes live, and can pause a page at any time. Activities happen in public places such as courts, studios, restaurants and parks.

What can other people see about me?

Your first name, your age, the fun fact you write, and your photo if you add one. Contact details are shared only with people you and they both picked, and only the ones you choose to share.

What if someone makes me uncomfortable?

You can block anyone you've been in a group with, and you won't be grouped with them again. Reports go to the Meetingy team, never to the person you report. In an emergency, call the local emergency number first.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from your account page. You can download your data first. Your profile, preferences, activities and picks are deleted straight away.

Making friends

Is Meetingy a dating app?

No. Meetingy is for doing things in small groups and making friends. We don't ask for your gender or who you're interested in, and there are no matches or hearts.

What happens after an activity?

You privately pick who you'd like to see again. When two people pick each other, both see it and can swap contacts, start a crew, or invite each other to the next activity.

Will anyone know if I didn't pick them?

No. Picks are private, and only mutual picks are shown. Nobody sees who didn't pick them.

Hosting

Who can host?

Anyone who already runs a regular activity for small groups: clubs, studios, coaches, cafés, chefs. Create your host page, or tell us what you run and the team sets it up with you. Every page is reviewed before it goes live.

What does hosting cost?

Nothing during the pilot.

How do hosts get paid?

Guests pay you your usual price, at the venue, the way they already do.
